No More Need To Bash Bush

March 2, 2006 / by longthought

I'm kind of at the point right now that to do any kind of Bush Bashing, is truly kicking a man when he is down. Nush has screwed up so badly in the public eye lately that to call him on it is just rhetoric.
Anyone defending Bush's position on the port issue, Katrina lies, or a number of other issues that have come to light are purely blind loyalists or just mere morons. Either way they are not worth arguing with. Bush is soooo wrong there can be no room for arguing.

i think this whole port deal is one big cunning plan. get everyone real pissed off and then turn around and have the federal government buy the ports and give them to haliburton.

Two vampires walked into a bar and called for the bartender. "I'll have a glass of blood," said one.
"I'll have a glass of plasma", said the other.
"Okay," replied the bartender, "that'll be ... one blood and one blood lite..."

A neutron walks into a bar. "I'd like a beer" he says.
The bartender promptly serves up a beer.
"How much will that be?" asks the neutron.
"For you?" replies the bartender, "no charge"

You guys are a joke. If halliburton was the one buying the ports, you would be up in arms. There are 300 terminals and Dubai will own 6 of them. The US is still responsible for the security. I dont recall this outrage when Carter and Clinton gave away the Panama Canal. Oh better check to see who one of the advisors to the Dubai Port company is.

it should come as no surprise that President George W. Bush has fallen to an approval rating of 34 percent in a recent national poll[OHMY]
  • biggdawg49 said 2 years ago
Have to agree with you Long, it may only be 6 ports, but thats 6 ports too many for me. I find it very hard to believe that theres not one good AMERICAN company that could own and run these ports. Americans might still be in charge of Security at the ports, but the UAE has had some affiliations with terrorist groups and though they may be "allies" now, thats not to say that they will still be allies a year or two from now. It just sounds like a risk that is too potentially harmful to logically take. I've agreed with a lot of things Bush has done, but this idea sounds like a stinker. I myself am a loyalist, but a loyalist to the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not to any one politician or political party. Thanks for the post bubba!

    LT,

I agree with your decision to stop beating on the dead horse. Although, my reasons are quite different from yours, as you may have guessed, and they're given in my latest post. The conclusion, of which, may startle even you.

well, I ain't no blind loyalists so I must be just a mere moron, which is OK, I been one before. But I really don't think that in an age of globalization that it really matters a whole hill of beans who has the actualy contrat for running ports, as those who work there are going to be Americans, American Longshoremen (can't no one doubt that they are patriotic and will watch out for our best interests). American workers doing the security. American Port Authorities with oversight. Since there are just three primary companies that do the running of American Ports and two of the three are foreign owned, and yet the port system seems to work pretty darn good. I don't think to the normal citizen of this country that we would notice any difference no matter who is contracted to run the ports. I ain't no Bush supporter as you already know but this whole issue is much ado about nothing.

  • APOLITICALNUT said 2 years ago
So many of the issues for which you blame Bush are actually Democrat actions. You have attempted to blame this administration for the oil leases which were the result of a 1995 law (signed by Clinton) and issued in 1998 by Clinton, Bush had nothing to do with it. Foreign control of our ports happened under Clinton.
  • Strider333 said 2 years ago
    So lame...the blame...game...oh well
  • callsignxray said 2 years ago
Hey LT, I am a Bush supporter and voter, I DO NOT LIKE THE CURRENT STATE OF AFFAIRS, Ports and Iraq, to be honest I am totally disenfranchised right now!
  • AngryRepublican said 2 years ago
It's typical isn't it. People blame Bush for the ports deal. When you point out it was Clinton in 1998 who leased the ports to a British company, they don't want to hear that.

And "not kicking a guy when he is down!!" The opposition started kicking Bush right after the 2000 election and hasn't stopped since. In my lifetime, I have never seen a president take this much abuse. I'm including Johnson, Nixon and Clinton. (and two of those presidents had charges being filed on them. Bush has not been charged with anything.)

If you have stopped "kicking" Bush it is because you got tired of "kicking." Since I started here at Blogster, about a year ago, you have done your fair share of kicking Bush.
    Have a[MAD]nice Day!
  • longthought said 2 years ago
Yep, I sure have done my share of KICKING OLD BUSH around, just not hard enough I believe. I believe he needed more. I do believe though that people are waking up and the need to "KICK" him more is just not necessary since most see what is really going on by now. Those that don't just refuse to open their eyes and are not worth wasting my time on.[COOL][COOL]

  • AngryRepublican said 2 years ago
Your whole post was "The Blame Game."
What are you and Strider talking about?
Both of you place blame all day long, then you criticize others for doing the same?
    Typical liberals…
